 Job Title:                         Intern

FLSA Status:                      Non-Exempt

Position Description Summary:

The internship will take place in the Los Angeles office starting January 2019, through to the end of Spring (up to 4-5 months).  Individuals should be pursuing or have recently completed, at least, a Bachelor’s degree in one of the core education areas listed: Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Aviation Management/Science, Mathematics, Environmental Science, Graphic Design, or any other related field.  Analytical Excel and CAD skills are strongly desired for the position.

Essential Function(s) of the Position:

J|D is seeking individuals with excellent organizational, technical, written, and verbal communication skills and who have interest in design, planning and consulting for airports and the aviation industry. Candidates should be self-motivated and have the capacity to work creatively within a highly motivated staff of consultants.

Los Angeles, California


Education and Experience:

Must be pursuing or at least obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Aviation Management/Science, Mathematics, Environmental Science, Graphic Design, or any other related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Above average communication skills, both oral and written.
  2. Ability to self-motivate.
  3. Above average presentation skills.
  4. Excellent computer skills; thorough understanding of Microsoft Office suite.
  5. Proficient technical skills related to specific firm software and hardware needs (CAD, professional graphical production, marketing, computer aided -   simulation, financial analysis, etc.)
  6. Ability to work within a structured environment with set expectations.
  7. Ability to come up with creative ways to complete assigned tasks within established guidelines and supervisor approval.
  8. Ability to interact in group settings, using judgement and discretion, to always represent the firm in the desired manner.
  9. Ability to learn new skills and abilities through on the job training.
  10. Attention to detail with respect to quality standards.
